Malcolm Persen

President

Malcolm’s background is in general management and financial analysis. He is a senior executive with a unique combination of analytical fact-based know-how, real-life experience, interpersonal skills and strategic creativity. He is adept at developing rigorous strategic and tactical approaches to business execution.

Prior to founding Resolute Performance contracting, Malcolm served as the Executive Vice President at Ironco/Renewable Energy Contracting where he led the expansion of Ironco’s business from steel fabrication to include all aspects of the solar power construction.  From 2004 to 2008, Malcolm served as the Chief Financial Officer for Radyne Corporation, a NASDAQ-traded manufacturer of satellite and telecommunications equipment. During his tenure at Radyne, the company tripled its revenues and then was acquired resulting in a 100% return for shareholders. From 2002 to 2004, he served as Chief Financial Officer for DW Acquisitions, a private equity partnership involved in the acquisition and operation of direct-mail and marketing businesses. From 1999 until 2002, Malcolm was employed as Director of Finance for Avnet, Inc, a distributor of electronic components and computer systems. From 1995 to 2002, Malcolm was a Senior Manager with the consultancy, Arthur D. Little, where he worked with a global portfolio of clients primarily involved with corporate level strategy development and execution. From 1990 to 1995, Malcolm worked for Mercer Management Consulting. Prior to 1990, he served as an independent financial consultant to emerging businesses. Malcolm holds a BA in Political Economics from The Colorado College, and an MBA from The Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Joe Banks IV

Executive Vice President

With over 23 years of industry experience in both fieldwork and project management, Joey is one of our founders and coordinates the construction of every project. He brings value engineering to the forefront of Resolute Performance Contracting’s mission. By pushing early involvement, transparent business practices, attention to detail, quality workmanship and on time delivery, Joey has lead Resolute’s commitment to delivering the best bottom line for all involved parties. Joey’s can-do attitude and positive leadership have paved the way for Resolute in renewable and specialty contracting.

Before starting Resolute, Joey originated the transition that resulted in the growth of Ironco from a medium-sized steel fabricator to the largest installer of renewable projects in Arizona. Five years ago, as part of a steel erection project, he agreed to take on the additional scope of installing drive motors and modules for a single axis tracking solar system. Seizing that opportunity opened many doors for REC, and the combination of technical expertise and savvy construction knowledge has provided for continued success as this market continues to develop.  Today, Joey has deep understanding of all aspects of specialty and renewable construction from estimating and selecting raw materials through the commissioning of finished facilities.

Robert Olson

Director of Business Development, LEED AP

Prior to joining our team at Resolute Performance Contracting, Robert served as Manager of Business Development at Ironco/Renewable Energy Contracting where he developed customer relationships that lead to the company’s explosive growth.  Before REC, Robert spent five years gaining experience in construction project management including work in hospitals, university buildings, and laboratory facilities with DPR Construction. He lead complex construction projects to meet schedule deadlines, ensured safe working environments as a safety director at Universal Safety Compliance, and provided customer service through quality assurance and quality control inspections at Western Technologies and KB Homes. As a LEED Accredited Professional, Robert has worked on multiple LEED certified buildings where he applied energy efficient and environmentally conscience concepts in construction project management.

Robert’s familiarity with the construction industry coupled with his insight into environmental design brings a technical focus to our business development and pre-construction team. His experience with self performed work, project engineering, and project management provide understanding in developing custom approaches for each individual project. Robert acts as a key point of contact for both clients and trade partners throughout the construction process. Robert has a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Arizona State University’s Del E Webb School of Construction.

Ray Munoz

Director of Operations

Ramon (Ray) Munoz is an insightful and results-oriented leader managing  RPC’s  project managers, project coordinators, and the field crews. He leads by example with a thorough understanding of the construction processes from Pre-Construction to Project Completion and Turn Over.

Ray has over 10 years of project experience in managing and overseeing a variety of construction disciplines. His work experience include Wet and Dry Utilities, Cable Infrastructure Design, Landscape Architecture, Site Development, Solar and Miscellaneous Steel construction in federal government, commercial, state and local municipalities. Skill set includes implementation of construction strategies, project budgeting and management, subcontractor procurement and coordination, quality control as well as creating and maintaining client relationships.

Valentin Socol

Director of Pre-Construction

Val’s job at Resolute Performance Contracting is to convert customer concepts into constructible finished designs.  His extensive experience across multiple disciplines includes architecture, structural engineering, industrial design, and physics. Prior to joining Resolute Performance Contracting, Valentin worked as the lead designer at Ironco/Renewable Energy Contracting where his designs were applied to over 90 different renewable energy projects. Before REC, Valentin worked as a detailer and draftsman in the structural steel industry. He has worked at all levels of drawing creation, and has developed a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvement in both project documentation and implementation processes.  

Valentin’s Bachelor’s of Architecture from Arizona State University along with his structural engineering studies at the Technical University of Construction in Bucharest, Romania provide a strong foundation for our design efforts. Valentin coordinates all of our efforts with outside engineering and architectural firms. Our clients rely on his understanding to guide the permitting and approval processes.

Robbie Molnar

Director of Finance

Robbie has spent his career working in the private sector, helping to grow and streamline small businesses. At Resolute, Robbie is responsible for financial reporting, managing and forecasting budgets, and identifying opportunities to create cost efficiencies. He brings a strong resolve as well as an ability to adapt quickly to novel situations, and his background provides a unique point of view to the management team at Resolute. By approaching his responsibilities with a strategic and analytical focus, he is able to balance the company’s long term goals with short term needs.

Before starting with Resolute Performance Contracting, Robbie was the Accounting Manager at Ironco/Renewable Energy Contracting. He was responsible for implementing and maintaining a cost accounting system to track and forecast costs on over 50 projects. Prior to working at Ironco, Robbie spent 2 years working with several small businesses in Vancouver, British Columbia in an accounting and consultation role. He developed and lead initiatives to increase automation and digitization, improve accounting controls, and expand marketing efforts. As a result, each of the companies he worked for deepened their market penetration and increased profits. Robbie has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization in Accounting from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business.

Tyler Damman

Safety Coordinator

Tyler is a key resource in maintaining a safe work environment for all employees in the Resolute shop, office and construction sites. He is responsible for providing the training, supervision and equipment to maintain Resolute's below-average EMR (Experience Modification Rate) and IIR (Injury and Illness Rate). Tyler collaborates with management, employees and contractors to develop Project Specific Safety Plans prior to the mobilization to every worksite. Working alongside local safety authorities such as OSHA, MSHA, ADOSH (Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health) and California OSHA, he conducts site inspections and training that exceed industry standards.  Tyler’s training includes: OSHA 30 GI, OSHA 30 CI, OSHA 510, CAL-OSHA 5109 & MSHA PART 46. Tyler’s job is not complete until all employees return home from work in better condition than they arrived.
